Time TESTED!

SITES' crates meet the test of time. Sometimes we're asked why our shipping crates need to be built to such exacting standards. Our usual response is that we've learned over many years how to best protect loaned objects as they travel. In addition to keeping exhibits safe over the course of many shipments, now we can add long-term storage to the list of unintended, yet valuable assets that our crates can provide.

Recently, our colleagues at the Smithsonian's Archives of American Art asked us to track down tour details from an exhibition SITES circulated in 1960, featuring works by esteemed American photographer Berenice Abbott. Turns out that the exhibition has been safely stored in its original crates for nearly 50 years! MIT will be the lucky recipient of this collection of Abbott's "The Image of Physics"--rarely seen, but kept safe in SITES' crates.
